The Copa Challenge®
The World’s Best Online Soccer Freestyler
Well someone had to do it, which is to take a leadership position and create the World’s First Online Freestyle Soccer Championship in this decade. Copa Freestyle’s ‘The Copa Challenge’ continues to promote freestyle soccer during this decade in the spirit that Nike’s competition did at the start of the last decade. During the past number of years freestyle soccer has grown globally and exponentially and we want to find out who are the new rising stars and what new moves and tricks will amaze us all over again.
Our goal is simple – to crown the best online freestyler in the world by holding an open and global competition! We have assembled an esteemed group of world-renowned Judges who will help in the selection; however, it will be YOU – the freestyle soccer fans – that will make the final selection.
In addition, we have some terrific prizes including cash pool of over US$20,000.00 as well as year-long sponsorships for Copa Freestyle’s global mobile applications potentially worth tens-of-thousands of dollars. For full details please refer to Prizes page.
Here are few more helpful data points regarding The Copa Challenge:
- Entries: The competition is open to all but it is an individual-based competition. We will have a team-based competition at a later date. Anyone can enter the competition; however, to qualify for a prize, contestants must be at least 13 years old. Goes without saying that this is void where prohibited by law (our lawyers made us do it!).
- Video Submissions: The video should not be more than 60 seconds long; we are not looking for a performance but, rather, a sample of creativity, skills and imagination. Doing several ATWs (Around the Worlds) in a row is impressive but doing even two while walking up a flight of stairs is even more impressive. Please see the sample video on the site featuring Steve ‘Eli Freeze’ Elias – one of our judges – in a very cleaver and creative video that adds a freestyling twist to ‘getting ready for work’. Registration is mandatory for all video submissions.
- Picture/Image Submissions: Having your relatives take a nice picture of you while freestyling is cute but we want to find a picture that belongs on the front pages of soccer magazines and not just your family album. Please see several sample pictures posted on the site to get some idea of what we would like to see. As with video submissions, the picture must be yours and clear of all rights, titles and interest by any third party (our lawyers, again). Registration is also mandatory for all picture submissions.
- Voter Registration: This is pretty simple and straightforward – in order to vote you must first register, which automatically qualifies you to win a prize. To make it simple and quick you can even use your Facebook account to register.
- Qualifications: In order to qualify, all contestants must sign ‘Terms of Use’ (yup, them lawyers) indicating that the submitted video and/or picture and any accompanying audio (music/sound) content is original and clear of any rights, titles and interest by any third party.
So during the next few months please visit our site and vote for your latest favorite video or picture. Feel free to bring a friend or a hundred
– and be part of freestyle soccer history!
